West Indies legend Dwayne Bravo announced his retirement
New Delhi: West Indian legend Dwayne Bravo has announced retirement from international cricket. Although he will be playing franchisee T-20 cricket all over the world. Bravo said that I also had the desire to leave international cricket for next-generation players while walking on the path of other cricketers.
Bravo, who played for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians in the IPL, played the T20 International match against Pakistan in September 2016, two years before the last international match. He was part of the 2016 World T20 winner Caribbean team. The 35-year-old Bravo played his first international match in 2004. He played 40 Tests for West Indies, 164 ODIs and 66 T20 Internationals.
Bravo played his last Test in 2010 and has been calling T20 specialists for the last few years. They are also known to celebrate in a unique style on the field. Bravo scored 2200 runs and 86 wickets with the help of three centuries in Tests. He scored 2968 runs in ODIs and took 199 wickets.
In his statement in the media, Bravo said, “Today, I want to tell the world of cricket that I have officially decided to take a bye from all the formats of international cricket. 14 years ago I had done a debate for the West Indies. I landed on the field after wearing a Maroon cap against England on the Lord’s Cricket Ground in July 2004. The passion and passion that I felt at that time was with me throughout the career. ‘
By announcing the retirement, Bravo has, in any way, stopped the return to international cricket. While coming to the West Indies tour, speculation was being made that Bravo can return to the national team.
Bravo played his last one-day international match against India in Dharamsala in 2014. During this tour, due to the salary dispute with the Board, the whole team of the West Indies returned home only from the middle of the tour. Bravo was the captain of the team at the time.
