New Delhi: The first ODI match between India and the West Indies was played in Guwahati. In this match, the Indian team defeated the Caribbean team by 8 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. In this match, one of the team’s bowlers in front of captain Virat and Rohit Sharma’s century did not go. Rohit Sharma was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his unbeaten 152-run knock.

In this match, the West Indies first scored a huge score of 322 runs in the 50th over with Hetmeyer’s century in the 50th over. India had got the target of 323 runs to win, which India won 8 wickets in 42.1 overs. Rohit Sharma gave his team victory with a six.

Virat and Rohit’s century

Shikhar Dhawan got bowled by four runs in the second over of Indian innings. Oshan Thomas also took his first ODI wicket with Shikhar Dhawan out. After this, Devendra Bishoo hit Virat Kohli out of the scalp, Virat played superb 140 runs. Virat shared a 246-run partnership with Rohit for the second wicket. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 152 while Ambati Rayudu returned unbeaten pavilion on 22 runs.

Thomas and Devendra Bishoo had one success with the West Indies.

Shimron Hetmyer scored 106 runs

Chanderpaul Hemraj (09), playing his maiden match, made Mohammed Shami bold to give India the first breakthrough. Kieran Powell (51) was dismissed in one-day cricket by scoring his ninth fifty. Pavel Khalil was caught at the crease by Shikhar Dhawan. Marlon Samuels, playing his 200th ODI after three balls, opened the account without LBW. Samuels was dismissed by Chahal Mohammed Shami then gave his team the fourth successive chance to get Shoa Hope out of the hands of Dhoni. Jadeja gave India the fifth success by bowing down Rovman Powell to 22 runs. After hitting a stormy century, Shimron Hetmyer made 106 and caught by Jadeja catching Pant on the ball. He hit a 106-run knock in 78 balls. The visitors were dismissed as Ashley Nurse’s seventh wicket. Ashley Nurse was given out LBW by Yuvvendra Chahal for two runs. Captain Jason Holder scored 38 runs and he got a bluff clean on his ball. Devendra Bishoo (22 not out) and Kemar Roach (26 not out) returned unbeaten pavilion.

In the first innings from India, Chahal made three, Shami and Jadeja two and two while Khalil Ahmed took one wicket.

Pant’s ODI debut

In this match being played in Guwahati, Rishabh Pant debuted his ODI debut. Prior to Pant’s first ODI match, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has given him an ODI cap. Chanderpaul Hemraj and Oishan Thomas also debuted on behalf of the West Indies.

Kuldeep did not get chance in first one day-

Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuswendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Khalil Ahmed.
